Sharing Book Report
Ex-34 Spreading the News

(Kar) Through reading of Article No. 34, I can learn the lesson that I should maintain the position of medium on people repeating rumours. Not knowing all the facts, I should not spread the news since it may cause misunderstandings among friends or others.

In the drama of the “Spreading the News”, it is obvious that Jack’s neighour who misunderstood his reply and spread the message without knowing all the facts, even to call the police. Eventually, the policeman ascertained that Jack had not purposed to kill George.

That story seems to be full of exaggerations but it may take place for life. We often act Jack’s neighbor to spread stories or news without knowing all the facts. Not hearing correctly, we repeat rumours that may cause many problems. Therefore, it is necessary for us to spread the news or stories before they were confirmed.

Some of the local newspapers or magazines often exaggeratedly report on news or stories. Their aims are only to attract a great deal of readers. As a result, we should insist the attitude of medium upon all reports.
