(Kar) I read the news about Elsie Tu, today, who had been a teacher, an elected member, and wrote the book of “Lessons in Life”.

She is quite caring for Hong Kong citizens especially the underprivileged people. Although she had not been an elected member for more than ten years, she reads local news everyday to realize their living. She said that she had been invited to join a political party when she was an elected member. She refused since she would rather serve the people in need than the party.

It is so generous of her to treat her two Filipino helpers that she pays double salaries for them. She thought the basic salaries were not enough for them for other expenses. Also, she supports the minimum wage that it should be HK$33 an hour.

In her opinion, the Government is sometimes too weak to perform the policy and should not be partial to property developers whatever. Besides, she hoped that the Government should build plenty of buildings for citizens to solve the home ownership problem.
